Dogs "Generally" Tough Night in Oshawa

It was a tale of three games within a game as the IceDogs were tripped up 6-4 Friday night in Oshawa.

Game one saw the home side take a 2-0 lead in the first 8 minutes before Jakob Chromiak fired home a power-play goal to make it 2-1 after 20 minutes.

In the second, two goals within 14 seconds gave Niagara the lead. Riley Patterson hit for his 26th, again on the power-play and Noah Read picked a corner from the slot for his 8th. A fourth straight goal made it 4-2 as Patterson tapped one in, with help from Ryan Roobroeck and Ethan Czata at 13:31.

In the final 20, Oshawa would get three goals in 44 seconds to re-take the lead. A late empty netter would end the night's scoring. The IceDogs were outshot 33-22 despite going 2 for 4 on the power-play and limiting the Generals to 1 for 5 on the man advantage.

Niagara now trails North Bay by two in the Eastern Conference as the two teams collide Sunday at the Meridian Centre. Join New Country 89.1 for all the action starting with the pre-game at 3:45.
