There are a number of non-school related closures in the area Thursday as snowfall continues in the Niagara Region. We will update this webpage as the day goes on.
Canada Post has issued a red delivery service notice for St. Catharines, Welland and Port Colborne. A red service alert means that delivery has been suspended, as Canada Post will not be not sending delivery agents out or recalling them. This includes mail collection. Delivery will resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so.
YMCA locations across the Niagara have cancelled some programming this morning due to heavy snowfall in the area.
The following YMCA of Niagara locations and programs are closed today:
-YMCA of Niagara Child Care Sites – All Programs Cancelled
-All YMCA of Niagara EarlyON Centres at Grantham, Thorold, Fairview Mall and St. Anthony – All Programs Cancelled
-YMCA of Niagara Youth Action Programming – All Programs Cancelled
-YMCA Beyond the Bell™ – All Programs Cancelled
-YMCA Employment Services Thorold – Office Closed
Port Colborne YMCA - Closed as of 4pm today
Niagara Centre YMCA - Closed as of 4pm today
The Niagara West branch in Grimsby has is closed today, while Niagara Centre in Welland and Port Colborne are open as usual and monitoring the weather.
The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake advises that all Town Administration Buildings are closed to the public today, Thursday, January 15, 2026, due to inclement weather and to ensure the safety of Staff travelling to work. During this time, in-person services at Town Hall will not be available. Staff will be working remotely to maintain service continuity.
The Town of West Lincoln says morning fitness programs are cancelled: Mom and Baby, Sit and Strength and Tai Chi. Afternoon programs are expected to run as scheduled, but may be affected if instructors have difficulty attending due to weather.
Port Cares says its offices at 92 Charlotte Street are closed today. However, the Reach Out Centre at 61 Nickel Street stays OPEN for the meal program.
Port Colborne's Meals on Wheels program has cancelled all of its deliveries today.
For the safety of staff and clients due to today’s weather conditions, Project SHARE of Niagara Falls' services are closed for the day. They will be reaching out to anyone who had an appointment scheduled today to reschedule.
The Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region's office at 403 Ontario Street is closed today. All outreach programs and in-home visits are cancelled as well.
All Pathstone Mental Health sites and their support line are closed today due to weather conditions
Additionally, the John Howard Society says all of its locations in the region are closed today because of weather as well.
