The YMCA of Niagara and the Stamford Kiwanis Club are celebrating the success of their second annual golf tournament, bringing together 130 golfers and community partners to raise money for children, youth and families across Niagara.
The Stamford Kiwanis YMCA Niagara Golf Classic was held at Rolling Meadows Golf Course, with participants decorating their golf carts and dressing up for the 18-hole tournament.
Manager of Philantrophy Jonna Wolfenberg says it's a day where the community shows up for one another.
The money raised through the tournament supports the YMCA’s Stronger Together community campaign, helping provide access to youth programs, summer and winter camps, March Break camps, and health, fitness and aquatic programs. The funds can also help families who might otherwise face barriers to accessing YMCA services.
General Manager of Marketing and Communications Jen Schmaltz says the spirit of the day is unlike any other.
The final fundraising total from this year's tournament has not yet been announced, but organizers say the event's impact goes beyond the money raised.
