What's Good in Niagara? Local 'Ride for Dad' fundraiser looking to build on over $1M raised since 2010

Motorcycles, community spirit, and an important health message will once again take centre stage as Princess Margaret Ride for Dad Niagara returns this Father's Day weekend.

Matt King, co-chair of Ride for Dad Niagara, says the event has grown significantly since the local chapter launched in 2010.

The ride brings together hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts each year, but King says the event is about much more than motorcycles. Riders collect donations from family and friends, helping fund local research projects as well as awareness campaigns throughout the region.

The ride itself has become a Niagara tradition. Participants gather at the Legion before taking part in a police-escorted ride along the Niagara Parkway, travelling past the Falls before winding through Niagara's wine country.

King says the event welcomes riders of all experience levels, including many father-son combinations who have made the annual ride part of their Father's Day tradition.

This year's Ride for Dad takes place on Father's Day weekend. Registration is available online at ridefordad.ca, with proceeds supporting prostate cancer research and awareness efforts across Niagara and Canada.
