Lakeside Park in St. Catharines will soon be the location of a new Neil Peart Memorial thanks to over $1-million being raised by RUSH.
We spoke with David DeRocco, Chair of the Neil Peart Memorial committee who says Lakeside park will become a destination.
The memorial, designed by artist Morgan MacDonald, will be placed near the Neil Peart Pavilion, honoring Peart’s legacy and connection to the city.
DeRocco spoke to the installation’s uniqueness.
The band donated part of the proceeds from VIP experiences during its Fifty Something tour, while Lee also donated one dollar from every ticket sold during his 2023 book tour.
The fundraising campaign officially closes October 15th, with fans still able to purchase commemorative panels featuring a permanent personal tribute.
