The FIFA World Cup may be over, but Niagara Parks is calling its first-ever Fan Zone in Queen Victoria Park a major success.

Niagara Parks CEO David Adames says the attraction ran from June 11 to July 19, bringing together local residents and visitors from around the world to watch matches against the backdrop of Niagara Falls.

The free Fan Zone featured live match broadcasts, entertainment, and food and beverage offerings, with attendance reaching its 1,000-person capacity during several games.

Adames says the event generated international media attention and provided an economic boost beyond the Fan Zone itself, with visitors stopping at Niagara Parks attractions before or after travelling to World Cup matches in Toronto and New York.

The success has already prompted Niagara Parks to look ahead.

Adames adds that they're also considering looking at a fan zone for the 2028 Summer Olympics in LA.
