Canal Days officially kicks off today, one of the most anticipated weekends of the year in the Niagara Region.
There's a number of great musical acts involved, including Bleeker, JJ Wilde and Big Wreck Friday, while Street Pharmacy, Bedouin Soundclash and Strumbellas will headline Saturday night at HH Knoll Park.
Mayor Bill Steele says there's something for everyone, even if you don't plan on attending the concerts.
This is the 48th year of Canal Days, an event that first started at the Port Colborne Museum and has since extended across the city's downtown core.
Steele says it's important to remember that none of this is possible without a dedicated team of volunteers.
The weekend also features a number of local businesses coming together, as well as tall ship rides in the Welland Canal.
