Mayor Cheryl Ganann says West Lincoln supports reviewing regional service delivery to improve efficiency and reduce costs, but does not support municipal amalgamation.
The mayor says governance discussions should focus on regional-level issues, such as council size and services, while recognizing that each municipality has unique needs.
Ganann notes West Lincoln’s current position remains unchanged, adding that a one-municipality model would not be in the community’s best interest, and says council will continue advocating for a careful, evidence-based approach moving forward.
The mayor is calling for a transparent, consultative, and data-driven process that includes municipalities, residents, and community partners before any decisions are considered.
