West Lincoln issues total burn ban amid extreme heat

Due to ongoing extreme heat and dry conditions, West Lincoln Fire Chief Tim Hofsink has issued a total open-air burn ban across the township.

Effective immediately, all outdoor fires are prohibited and previously issued burn permits are suspended until further notice.

The decision follows the township’s third field fire in just five days.

Fire Services will monitor conditions daily.

Farmers are also being urged to take extra care during wheat harvests, as hot machinery could spark fires in dry crops.
