$13,000 in funding to support new recreation activities

The Township of West Lincoln is getting a boost for programs aimed at keeping older adults active and connected.

The Township has received $16,100 through the Ontario Seniors Community Grant to support new recreation and social opportunities at the West Lincoln Community Centre.

The funding will help purchase 13 seated bicycles for a new twice-weekly Sit and Cycle program, along with additional social activities designed to bring seniors together.

Officials say the goal is to promote healthy aging, reduce isolation and create more ways for older adults to stay involved in the community.
