The Township of West Lincoln and Niagara Region have officially broken ground on major watermain and sanitary sewer upgrades along Regional Road 20 and Wade Road in Smithville.
The $3.9 million provincially funded project will expand local water and wastewater capacity, paving the way for future housing and growth in the community.
Construction is set to begin the week of November 10 and continue until June 2026, with efforts to limit traffic and service disruptions.
Officials say the upgrades mark a key step in supporting West Lincoln’s sustainable growth and housing goals.
