A 37-year-old Welland resident wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested in Edmonton.
The OPP say the arrest stems from an incident in October 2023, when a driver failed to stop at a R.I.D.E. checkpoint in Southwest Middlesex and was later charged with multiple offences.
After failing to appear in court in May this year, a Canada-wide warrant was issued. On October 20, with help from several police units in Ontario and Alberta, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The accused has since been returned to Ontario to face numerous firearm, drug trafficking, and driving-related charges.
