When voters in Welland go to the polls in October to elect a mayor, Frank Campions name will not be on the ballot.
Campion says he made the decision after talking to his family earlier this week, after serving the last three terms as Mayor of the City.
Today is the official candidate nomination deadline for the upcoming Municipal Elections.
Candidates from across the region have until 2:00pm today to submit their paperwork to run for either Mayor of their city or town, Councillor or school board trustee.
