Welland Mayor-elect Pat Chiocchio says building relationships with his fellow mayors will be among his first priorities when he takes his seat at Niagara Regional Council.
Chiocchio will be joining a significantly different-looking council, with several new faces taking over mayoral offices across the region.
He says understanding the priorities of his fellow mayors will be important to getting things done.
Chiocchio brings eight years of experience at regional council to the mayor's office, and says he's looking forward to working with both returning and incoming mayors.
When it comes to the campaign itself that led to his win - he says staying focused in the midst of the craziness was important.
The new term of council is expected to begin later this month.
