Welland long-term-care closure a hot topic during Marit Stiles visit

Provincial NDP leader Marit Stiles and the party's Niagara MPPs met with health care workers from the area this week  to discuss the state of health care in the region.

The discussion included Niagara Health's announcement about the impending closure of a long-term care home in Welland and that means for the community.

Welland MPP Jeff Burch emphasized the ripple effect it will have throughout the system, with many already waiting months for beds to become available.

Niagara Health says the home no longer meets modern long-term care safety and accessibility standards.
