The City of Welland is making it easier to get active with a new free sports equipment pilot.
Ten self-serve lockers have been installed at parks across the city through a partnership with Equip Sport and Canadian Tire Jumpstart.
Residents can use the Equip Sport app to borrow basketballs, soccer balls, frisbees and rackets, then return them when they’re done.
The program is free, requires no credit card, and is available at ten parks, including Chippawa, Station, Gaiser and Maple.
