The 10th anniversary Welland Floatfest has been cancelled.
Organizers say the decision was made because they couldn't guarantee a safe environment for everyone involved without the full support of all stakeholders.
That means the July 5 event, including canal floating, vendors, live music, shopping and fireworks, won't go ahead, and all 2026 floating registrations will be cancelled.
Organizers thanked volunteers, performers and sponsors for their efforts and say they're hopeful the family event will return in 2027. The group's statement can be found below.
