Welland Fire signs 15-year deal with St. Catharines for Next Gen 911

Welland Fire and Emergency Services is changing the way its emergency calls are dispatched.

Beginning July 15, the City of St. Catharines will provide fire dispatch services under a new 15-year agreement designed to improve regional coordination and support Next Generation 911 technology.

Officials say the move will strengthen communication between Niagara fire departments while improving emergency response.

Residents won't notice any changes. Fire emergencies should still be reported by calling 911.
