The owner of two Welland rental properties has been fined $120,000 plus court costs after pleading guilty to multiple violations of the Ontario Fire Code.
Welland Fire and Emergency Services inspected 71 Young Street and 23 Welland Street and found several issues including missing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as well as unsafe building modifications.
The owner had been previously charged in 2023 and has now been placed on probation for two years.
