Welland is planning ahead as the city continues to grow.
City council has approved an updated Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan, setting priorities for future investments in parks, trails, recreation facilities, programs and cultural spaces.
The review found more than 90 per cent of the recommendations from the original 10-year plan have already been completed or are underway.
Residents highlighted trails, active transportation, canal recreation opportunities, green spaces and inclusive programming as top priorities for the years ahead.
