Wainfleet Council has approved its 2026 Operating and Capital Budget, outlining a 4.98% increase to the Township’s portion of the property tax levy.
The budget aims to balance rising fiscal pressures with the need to maintain essential services and invest in critical infrastructure.
For a median-assessed home, the increase represents about $134 more on the annual tax bill.
The town says leaders developed the plan amid significant inflation, increased service costs, and growing provincial requirements, while keeping long-term asset management and infrastructure renewal as key priorities.
