May is being marked as Food For All month by Village of Hope in Lincoln, with a food and funds drive now underway to support local families.
Organizers say all monetary donations made this month will be matched by an anonymous donor.
The local food bank distributes more than 9,000 kilograms of food each month, helping over 2,000 people, including hundreds of children through a snack program.
Officials say as many as one in four people in the community may be experiencing food insecurity.
An open house and ribbon cutting for a new program will take place today, followed by a community-wide food and funds drive on May 30.
