Niagara Health will temporarily close the Fort Erie and Port Colborne Urgent Care Centres on specific days this summer due to a critical physician shortage.
Starting in July, Fort Erie UCC will close Fridays and Port Colborne UCC on Saturdays, with both locations closed on Canada Day, the Civic Holiday weekend, and Labour Day weekend.
Niagara Health says the move is a last resort to maintain safe 24/7 emergency care at larger hospitals in Niagara Falls, Welland, and St. Catharines.
