United Way Niagara campaign ignites with fire truck pull raising $30k

United Way Niagara officially kicked off its 2025 campaign yesterday with the annual Fire Truck Pull in St. Catharines, raising $30,000.

This year's campaign has a goal set at $5-million, while campaign Chair Allie Hughes brings a vast knowledge and background working with local non-profits through her company, Hughes & Co.

Last year, United Way investments supported more than 100,000 residents in Niagara, meaning tens of thousands of people were able to receive emergency shelter, nutritious meals or preventative counselling – thanks to the support of local donors.

United Way also announced that Empire Homes has come on as this year’s New Donor Match sponsor. Empire Homes will match any and all new donations dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000.
