United Way Golden Horseshoe says its programs helped more than 139,000 people across Niagara last year.

The organization's first-ever Impact Report highlights support delivered through 44 local agencies and 87 programs, including food security initiatives, youth programs, mental health services and newcomer supports. The report also notes hundreds of hygiene kits distributed, thousands of pounds of fresh produce shared, and strong growth in donor support.

Across the wider Golden Horseshoe, more than 440,000 people received help through United Way-funded programs.

Officials say the report shows the impact communities can make when people come together to support one another.
