Two licenses suspended, one car impounded during Welland RIDE checks

Niagara Regional Police say two drivers had their licenses suspended during weekend RIDE checks in Welland.

Throughout the night, roughly 250 cars were stopped and 18 drivers were asked to give a breath sample, with two of them resulting in an alert. This means those two drivers had their licesnses suspended for three days.

In addition to those two, police also stopped a vehicle and learned the driver was prohibited, before they refused to give a breath sample. A 57-year-old Welland man has been charged with obstructing police and had his vehicle impounded for 45 days as a result.
