Two charged after police investigate frequent, short visits to St. Catharines home

Niagara Regional Police are probing an alleged drug trafficking operation in St. Catharines following reports of frequent, brief visits to a Niagara Street address.

The investigation led detectives to carry out three search warrants on Wednesday and Thursday, targeting a vehicle, the Niagara Street residence, and a second property in Thorold.

During the searches, officers seized nearly 700 grams of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of about $69,000, along with more than 100 prescription pills.

Police also recovered several firearms and ammunition, as well as bundled cash, six Rolex watches, and various pieces of jewelry and luxury purses believed to be tied to the operation.

Two people, 60-year-old Wayne Turner of St. Catharines and 31-year-old Tayesha MacKinnon of Kingston, were arrested and are now facing multiple criminal charges.
