Niagara police have seized a loaded semi-automatic shotgun and ammunition during a search of a St. Catharines home.

The Street Crime Unit began investigating illegal firearms at a Church Street residence earlier this month.

A 51-year-old St. Catharines man and a 17-year-old girl were arrested Monday after police executed a search warrant.

Police say they seized a Revolution Armoury R4 semi-automatic shotgun loaded with seven rounds, along with 48 rounds of ammunition.

Jason Willis is facing several firearms-related charges, while the 17-year-old is also facing multiple charges and cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
