Three name finalists for Port Dalhousie public space

Residents of St. Catharines are being asked to help choose the name of a new outdoor public space in Port Dalhousie.

The City has launched a “Vote for your preferred name” survey for the site at 45 Lakeport Rd. on its EngageSTC platform. The survey is open until Friday, November 7 at 4:30 p.m.

The three finalist names are Lakeside Commons, Old Lock One Commons, and N. Carlos Garcia Commons.

The naming process began this spring, when the City invited suggestions for the site.

A total of 209 submissions were received. With help from the City’s Historical Services staff, the top three names were chosen.

Once voting ends, the preferred name will be presented to City Council later this fall.
