Three arrested as NRPS crack down on wire theft

Police in the Welland have made multiple arrests following a targeted patrol aimed at curbing ongoing thefts of hydro and telecommunications wire.

Niagara Regional Police launched the initiative in response to a rise in such incidents across the region. In the early morning hours of Saturday, a vehicle was stopped and police found a significant amount of telecommunications wire inside. As a result, three individuals were taken into custody.

Charged in connection with the incident are 28-year-old Tyler Huggins, 52-year-old Michael Huggins, and 54-year-old Stefan Vautour of Welland.
