With the municipal election nomination period opening at the end of this week, we now know there will be at least one new Mayor in the Niagara Region.
Thorold Mayor Terry Ugulini has announced he will not be seeking re-election in October’s municipal elections.
Ugulini has served on Thorold council for 12 years, including the last eight as Mayor of the City.
He says while it’s time to turn to reins over, his only hope is that the city continues down the path it’s currently on towards a bright future.
The municipal election nomination period starts Friday.
