Former NHL player and Buffalo Sabres head coach Ted Nolan will address Brock University graduates on Tuesday, June 10 during the 2:30pm Convocation ceremony.
He will also receive an honorary doctorate recognizing his achievements in sports, advocacy, and philanthropy.
A proud member of Garden River First Nation, Nolan has dedicated his life to advancing Indigenous rights, fighting racism, and mentoring youth.
He co-founded 3Nolans, a hockey development program for Indigenous youth, and launched the Ted Nolan Foundation, which provides scholarships for Indigenous women. Nolan’s story of resilience—from NHL success to a cancer diagnosis—has inspired many. He now shares that journey through speaking engagements and his book, Life in Two Worlds.
