St. Catharines unveils art exhibition to kick off Black History Month

The City of St. Catharines held a number of opening ceremonies for Black History Month. 

The city held musical performances and poem readings, followed by the unveiling of an art exhibition "Black Histories, Black Futures" that will be on display on the third floor of City Hall until February 27th.

The city also has other events planned this month, including a partnership with Future Black Females for their annual On Stage Variety Show at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre on February 21st. 

The St. Catharines Public Library will host a presentation of 'Harriet Tubman in Niagara' today as well as one on the Cataract House Hotel, the busiest Underground Railroad crossing in Niagara.
