The City of St. Catharines is marking Emergency Preparedness Week by urging residents to be ready for emergencies.
This year’s theme, “Prepared Together,” focuses on three steps: know the hazards, make a plan, and prepare an emergency kit.
Officials say households should have a plan for staying in touch and meeting if separated, and keep a 72-hour kit with essentials like food, water, medications, and flashlights.
Residents are also reminded to be aware of local risks, including flooding, extreme weather, and power outages.
