St. Catharines man arrested in historical human trafficking investigation

Niagara Regional Police have wrapped up a lengthy investigation into historical allegations of human trafficking in the Niagara Region.

The incidents occurred between 2008 and 2018. The investigation identified a male delivery driver working for a local company as a suspect.

On Tuesday, November 18, officers arrested 56-year-old Stephen Caron of St. Catharines.

He has been charged with trafficking in persons, receiving a material benefit, sexual assault, assault with a weapon, assault, and uttering threats.

Given the scope of the case, detectives believe there may be additional witnesses and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
