St. Catharines man arrested in connection to drug investigation

A coordinated police operation in St. Catharines has resulted in charges against one man following a drug trafficking investigation. 

The Niagara Regional Police Street Crime Unit says the probe began earlier this month, focusing on suspected controlled substance activity in the city.

On May 21st, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Welland Avenue and Geneva Street. 

The operation involved multiple units, including the Emergency Task Unit and K9.

A 36-year-old Jeremy Butterworth of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with several offences, including firearm-related charges and possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and hydromorphone.
