Niagara Regional Police say an online sale has led to the seizure of thousands of dollars in counterfeit cash and the arrest of a St. Catharines man.
The investigation began after a victim reported being paid with fake money during a March 30th meet-up at a Welland coffee shop.
Detectives identified a suspect and searched a St. Catharines home on April 7th, where they say they found more than $8000 in suspected counterfeit cash, along with materials used to make it. Suspected crystal meth was also seized.
36-year-old Eric Rockwell is facing multiple charges, including making and possessing counterfeit money, breaching a release order, and drug possession.
