The City of St. Catharines is investing nearly $450,000 through its Cultural Investment Program to support local arts, culture and heritage organizations, festivals and community initiatives.

City officials say the funding helps strengthen the creative sector by expanding access to arts and cultural experiences while supporting the organizations that bring them to residents.

The largest share of the funding will support 12 organizations through sustaining grants, helping create jobs, foster partnerships and contribute to the city's cultural and economic vitality.

Council also approved in-principle funding for some organizations through 2028, providing greater stability for long-term planning and continued growth of the local arts sector.
