Memorial to be built between Race, Carlisle, and McGuire streets
The St. Catharines Fallen Firefighters Memorial has received a major boost thanks to a $50,000 donation from the St. Catharines Club.
The donation was announced during the club’s “Final Toast” Legacy and Community Event on May 29, where over $500,000 was distributed to nine local organizations.
The memorial, set to be built at the city parkette bordered by Race, Carlisle, and McGuire streets, will honour fallen firefighters who served the city.
Launched in 2021, the memorial campaign is now closer to its goal.
The historic St. Catharines Club closed in 2023, and a special board oversaw the sale of its building, ensuring the proceeds went to community causes.
Other donation recipients include Community Care, Gillian’s Place, RAFT, and Hospice Niagara.
