St. Catharines begins transition to EV fleet

Seven new Chevrolet Equinox EVs introduced to by-law fleet

The City of St. Catharines is going green with some of its new fleet vehicles.

The city recently started the transition to electric vehicles, starting with their by-law services division. Seven new, electric Chevrolet Equinox were purchased by the city, funded through the Administrative Monetary Penalty System, with the goal of achieving a net-zero carbon footprint by 2050.

Each vehicle is equipped with technology that allows officers to manage cases, input data, and communicate with residents directly while in the field.
