Heavy rain, strong winds and large hail possible

A yellow severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Niagara Region.

Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for storms that could produce strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Experts say up to 50mm of rain is possible in some areas between Tuesday morning and midnight Wednesday, with wind gusts between 90 and 110km/h, and quarter to ping-pong ball size hail.

You're reminded to find shelter when thunder is heard, and to drive according to the weather conditions in heavy rain.
