A program helping Niagara doctors connect patients with faster specialist care is marking four years of service.
SCOPE Niagara launched in 2022 to give primary care providers quick access to hospital specialists through a phone call, fax or email, often helping patients avoid unnecessary trips to the Emergency Department.
Niagara Health says the program has helped prevent an ER visit in 96 per cent of cases and now supports more than 250 clinicians across the region.
SCOPE currently offers eight care pathways, including mental health, pediatrics and palliative care services.
