The City of St. Catharines and the Humane Society of Greater Niagara are asking residents to stay cautious and patient following recent wild turkey sightings near Martindale Road and Highway 406.
Officials say Animal Services Officers have received several calls to help redirect the birds from busy areas, though the agile turkeys are often gone by the time crews arrive.
Due to strict regulations, relocation isn’t a simple option, and residents are reminded not to feed or approach the animals.
The City emphasizes that coexistence with wildlife is key, urging drivers to stay alert and report any road hazards involving animals.
