Niagara IceDogs radio broadcasts have a new voice behind the microphone.
The team announced that Reece Doumani will take over as play-by-play commentator for Niagara's New Country 89.1 in the 2026-2027 season, covering every single IceDogs regular season and playoff game.
Doumani is familiar to IceDogs fans, as he served as host of DOGS TV from 2016 to 2019, and also spent time filling in as play-by-play broadcaster over the past several seasons.
He says coming back to the IceDogs just feels right.
Doumani also has experience with the Brantford Titans of the GOHL, Welland Jackfish of the CBL and the OHL's Brantford Bulldogs.
For New Country 89.1, this is the fifth year that IceDogs game will be broadcast live on the station. General Manager Hilary Montbourquette says it's excited to be part of a growing partnership.
The Niagara IceDogs begin their 2026-2027 season on Friday, September 18th against the Brantford Bulldogs, with the team's home opener the next night against the Brampton Steelheads.
