A redeveloped long-term care home in Virgil is officially open, adding 160 modern beds for seniors in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The new Radiant Care Pleasant Manor replaces the former 41-bed retirement village with 119 new beds and 41 upgraded spaces designed around smaller resident home areas.
The facility first welcomed residents in December and includes features like outdoor courtyards, a chapel, recreation programs and wellness services.
Provincial officials say the project will also support more than 200 jobs and become part of a larger campus that will include supportive housing, a daycare and a Living Classroom partnership with Niagara College.
