R.I.D.E. Campaign leads to arrest in St. Catharines

A evening R.I.D.E. campaign on Thursday has led to the arrest of a driver in St. Catharines.

Officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service were conducting the initiative in the Welland Avenue and Dieppe Road area of St. Catharines on the evening of March 12th, with 11 tickets issued as well as 4 warnings.

Four drivers were also required to provide breath samples into a screening device. One driver registered a "fail" and was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Exceed BAC.

NRPS reminds the public that impaired driving remains the leading criminal offence causing death in Canada, and remains committed to reducing impaired driving through education and the apprehension of offenders through enforcement programs like RIDE.
