Construction is set to begin this fall on a major electricity project connecting Welland and Thorold.
Hydro One will host a community information session tonight, giving residents a chance to meet the project team, learn what’s coming and ask questions.
The roughly $311-million Welland Thorold Power Line includes a new 230-kilovolt transmission line and an expansion of the Crowland Transformer Station in Welland.
The project was approved by the Ontario Energy Board in July and is expected to be completed in 2029.
The drop-in session runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion on Morningstar Avenue in Welland.
