Ontario Premier Doug Ford has weighed in on the possibility of amalgamation in the Niagara Region.
Speaking in Niagara Falls today, Premier Ford says there's a few ways to find efficiencies locally.
Ford adds that when compared to other areas of Ontario, Niagara has way more councillors per capita.
Ford says that a decision on amalgamation in the Niagara Region will be handled at the regional level, not provincial.
Last week, Regional Chair Bob Gale sent a letter to Mayors asking their opinions on a four-city and one-city models for Niagara.
