Port Colborne is inviting families to get behind the scenes at city operations and learn some important fire safety tips.
The annual Touch-a-Truck and Fire Prevention Kick-Off takes place Thursday, October 8th, from 4 to 7 p.m., with activities at the Engineering and Operations Centre and the Port Colborne Fire Hall.
Kids can climb into city trucks, see how a watermain repair works and check out snowplows painted by local students.
Over at the fire hall, families can learn about cooking safety and home escape plans, take aim with a fire hose and meet Sparky the Fire Dog.
There will also be a bouncy castle, refreshments and giveaways.
Admission is free, and the event runs rain or shine.
