Popular Brock grape stomp returns Friday in St. Catharines

Brock University’s annual Homecoming Grape Stomp is back, and this year will see hundreds of students and alumni stomp their way through two metric tonnes of local Concord grapes in Jubilee Court on Friday.

The messy tradition pays tribute to Niagara’s winemaking roots and gets underway at noon, with participant check-in starting at 11:30 a.m.

Along with the grape stomping, the day will include live music from Avenue Inn, a band with strong Brock alumni ties, and a free barbecue for participants and spectators alike.

The Grape Stomp is one of the highlights of Homecoming weekend, which also features the Steel Blade Classic Hockey Game at the Meridian Centre.
